Castle Vale House
off Railway Street
Berwick-upon-Tweed
Northumberland

Tel: 01289 303699

The house was built in the 1850s just below the site of the great castle where the fate of Scotland was decided over 600 years ago.

This spacious and secluded property is adjacent to the main line station and has its own beautiful garden with private parking. A thirteenth century tower stands in the grounds. Guests can enjoy the wonderful views of the River Tweed or stroll down the ornamental footpath to the river far below. It is only ten minutes' walk to the town centre.

We offer three lovely rooms for B&B:
The Tweed View, which consists of a large double/twin room on the ground floor with en-suite shower room. Its two windows overlook the garden and the river.
The Royal Border Bridge, which consists of a large double room on the first floor with en-suite shower room. This has the most amazing view of the river trough the famous railway bridge.
The Constable Tower, which is a double ensuite bedromm with views over the river and the castle ruin.

Breakfast is taken in the dining room. This is a delightful and cosy room, lined with books and pictures, where guests can eat a hearty breakfast served with our home made bread.

We have a fold-up bed and cot available.

We own our own friendly collie dog called Jeannie who is very gentle with both children and adults.

(You will see the house on the map in the middle of the green triangle formed by the New Road and the railway bridge.)
