We are situated on the South side of the City of Edinburgh, only a mile from Princes Street, on the main A701, only 3 miles from the Straiton Junction exit of the Edinburgh City By-Pass. Located on an excellent bus route we have buses passing the Guest House every few minutes. The bus stop is located about 20 yards from the Guest House. A number 3, 29, 31, 37 or 37a bus will take you to Princes Street which is regarded as the City Centre.
Our accommodation is comfortable and we aim to offer good value for money. We have a variety of bedrooms which include single, twin/double/small family en-suite, standard double and large family en-suite. Most of the rooms have their own en-suite shower and toilet and all rooms have their own wash basin, digital flat screen T.V., tea / coffee making facilities, adjustable central heating and secondary glazing. We also have a payphone for Guests use. We provide a Wireless hotspot so you can use your laptops while you are staying with us and a computer with internet access.
A full cooked breakfast is included in the price and served between 8am an 9am daily. Check in is from 11.30 am until 8pm and check out on your last day with us is 10am. On arrival you will receive a set of keys allowing you access to the Guest House and your room at any time.
Our large private car park at the rear of the house takes the worry out of parking, making The Airlie and ideal base for business travellers or visitors wishing to explore the wonderful City of Edinburgh.
Newington is an area which offers a large choice of evening meals, almost all tastes are catered for locally, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, fish and chips, hotel restaurants, pubs a coffee house and a tea room.
We are within walking distance of the Festival Theatre and the Queens Hall and an easy taxi ride to the Kings Theatre. A bus will take you to the Playhouse Theatre in about 15 minutes.
